Textile Art

There's more to fabric printing and design than T-shirts! Screen printing and monoprinting, sophisticated tie-die processes, wax resist, hand-painting, and stamp techniques. . . all are part of the exciting field known as "surface design." In this studio you can expect to explore a variety of projects on fabric - from shirts, ties, and pants to hats, backpacks, and wall hangings.

The studio is equipped with 10 and 15 foot print tables, enabling you to produce substantial fabric yardage in a variety of materials from cotton and canvas to rayon and silk. During the course of the summer you will gain experience in working with a range of design styles, with color theory an integral part of the studio.
