Explore the multi-faceted world of clay through a variety of forming, glazing and firing techniques. Concentrated instruction will be given on the wheel and in hand-building. You will mix your own glazes, learn about glaze chemistry, and experiment with a range of approaches to surface decoration, such as the use of colored clays, slip decoration, underglazes, and carving on pots.

The pottery studio is equipped with ten wheels, two extruders, and a slab roller. A gas kiln, an electric kiln, a saw-dust kiln and a raku kiln are part of our extensive facilities, enabling you to do traditional oxidation and reduction firing, as well as to experiment with non-traditional techniques such as pit and raku firing.
