CHRIS DARWAY studied industrial design at the Philadelphia College of Art, but ended up in metals, where the focus was on small-scale works of jewelry. Using primarily matte-faced sterling silver, stainless steel, and occasionally gold, Darway casts and fabricates carefully designed elements. His use of new materials gives his work a decidedly graphic look, which is often downright sexy in its minimalism. Chris participated in the 20th anniversary Smithsonian Craft Show, a premier juried exhibition and sale of contemporary American crafts in the United States.
